I have been creating images in one form or an other all of my life. I began when my Mom gave me crayons and scrap paper under the kitchen table. I rarely work under the table any more. Being a pragmatic person, I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Management with a focus on Communications. This comes in handy when talking to business clients. I had some classes in fine art and art history in college, but have learned most of my skills on the job.
You are welcomed to look at my resume for more details.
My work is separated into three areas, commercial design, commercial illustration and private commissions. Take a look at my work for specific examples. I work with commercial clients from the ground up, developing strategies and concepts while producing finished printed pieces and websites. Most of my private commissions take the form of house, pet or children’s drawings.
For the most part, if I can see it, I can draw it.
I have been working as a professional designer
and illustrator long enough to predate the use of personal computers. Although that gives me an
excellent background, I wouldn’t want to contemplate life without the tools available on today’s computer. I use the Adobe Creative Suite programs for graphic design/digital illustration and I use Dreamweaver to create websites. I work in pencil, ink, and paint for most of my private commissions. I am a member of the National Association of PhotoShop Professionals and an avid reader of HOW, Print and other trade publications.
Because I work with clients who want realistic solutions that they can use everyday, I usually work on a PC rather than a Mac. I create graphic solutions that maximize my customers budget dollars and give them as much flexibility as they need. I like to integrate traditional illustration whenever possible into my design solutions.
